Gloucester Trash Cart Rollout Pushes Into the Weekend
Gloucester's town-wide switch from trash bags to wheeled carts stretched into the weekend, with delivery crews still working through backlogged routes as of Saturday, according to the town's News Flash system.
TOWN HALL
The town's new Trash & Recycling program, which replaces bags with carts for collection, remains mid-rollout. A News Flash update posted Saturday morning said delivery crews were "currently finishing up Thursday's route and are deep into Friday's route," an indication the multi-day delivery schedule is running behind its original pace. The update, the second cart-delivery notice in two days after a Friday post announcing the new program's cart delivery, asked residents to keep a handful of transition guidelines in mind as carts continue arriving neighborhood by neighborhood. The town did not specify in the alerts when delivery is expected to be complete townwide.
