Gloucester Planning Board Endorses Two Lot Line Adjustments Without Dissent

GLOUCESTER — April 3, 2025 — Gloucester Planning Board unanimously approves two routine lot line adjustments. The board voted 6-0 at its April 3 meeting to endorse an approval-not-required plan submitted by Karen Thompson for a boundary shift at 4 Lands Lane, conveying a small area including a parking pad and patio to abutting neighbor Jonathan Golding, who had built the improvements unknowingly on the wrong side of the property line years ago. A second 6-0 vote endorsed a Works Realty Trust plan severing a small triangular parcel at 46 Maplewood Avenue from a commercial lot containing a McDonald's and conveying it to an adjacent rental center, which will gain usable space around its building. Member David Rosen asked whether the Maplewood Avenue plan was connected to an apartment development under construction nearby; applicant Betsy confirmed a related access drive is planned but said it falls outside the current application. The board also corrected a March 20 meeting minutes entry that incorrectly described public commenter Rich Carlson as owning the since-demolished Rockaway Hotel, approving the revised minutes 6-0.
