Gloucester cart swaps for new trash program begin Nov. 9
Gloucester will begin swapping trash and recycling carts Nov. 9 for residents who requested different sizes. The town said the process may take more than one week, and the Nov. 11 holiday delays collection one day.
The Town of Gloucester announced Nov. 4 that cart swaps under the new trash and recycling program will begin Nov. 9 for residents who requested different cart sizes.
Residents should follow these steps:
- On the regular collection day, put carts out as usual. - After collection, leave any cart that needs to be swapped or removed at the curb through the end of the following day. - The cart will be collected and swapped the day after the normal collection day. - If the cart has not been swapped by 7 p.m. the day after the normal collection day, bring the carts back in and repeat the process the following week.
Wednesday, Nov. 11, is a holiday, so collection will be delayed one day. The town also noted that the swap process may take more than one week.
